Privacy Policy

The staff at Insurance Service Center and London Insurance Agency respects your right to privacy.  The terms of this Notice apply to those individuals who inquire about or obtain insurance from Insurance Service Center and/or London Insurance Agency.  This is to inform you of our procedures for protecting your privacy and your rights and responsibilities regarding non-public personal information we receive about you.  We also want you to understand how we gather the information about you and how we protect it.  This Policy applies to current and former customers of Insurance Service Center and London Insurance Agency.

1.  What Kind Of Information Do We Collect About You And From Whom?
Insurance Service Center and London Insurance Agency obtains most of its information directly from you.  The application you complete, as well as any additional information you provide, generally gives us most of the information we need to know.  Sometimes we may contact you by phone or mail to obtain additional information.

Depending on the nature of your insurance needs, we may need additional information such as motor vehicle records for auto coverage.  For property coverages we may send someone to inspect your property and verify information about its value and condition.  A photo of any property to be insured may be taken.  We will review insurance claims information and other loss information reports and we may also obtain medical or financial information to adjust some claims.

Information may be obtained from third parties, such as other insurance companies, government agencies, information clearinghouses, courts and other public records.  We may obtain consumer credit information from a consumer reporting agency.  A report from a consumer reporting agency may contain information as to creditworthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, character, general reputation, hobbies, occupation, personal characteristics or mode of living.  An investigative consumer report, containing the same type of information may also be obtained from such an agency that will gather information from personal interviews with your neighbors, friends, associates, acquaintances, or others who may have knowledge concerning those items of information. 

2.  What Do We Do With The Information Collected About You?
All the information that has been collected about you, which we retain, may be maintained in both our policy records and in company files.  We review it when evaluation your request for insurance coverage and in determining your rates.  We will also refer to and use information in our policy records for purposes related to issuing and servicing insurance policies and settling claims.  We may use information about you in our files for insurance marketing purposes or to help you with your overall insurance program.

If you are declined for coverage or the charge for coverage is increased due to information contained in a consumer report we obtained, we will notify you as required by state law and the FCRA.  We will also give you the name and address of the consumer reporting agency making the report.

3.  To Whom Do We Disclose Information About You?
We will not disclose information about you to others unless disclosure is necessary to conduct our business.  By law, we are also permitted to share information abut you under certain circumstances to certain persons and organizations, such as:

• Our affiliated insurance companies or brokers
• Parties that perform a business, professional or insurance function for our company including or reinsurance companies
• Independent claims adjusters, appraisers, investigators and attorneys who need the information to investigate, defend or settle a claim involving you
• Other insurance companies, agents or consumer reporting agencies as reasonably necessary in connection with any application, policy or claim involving you
• Medical care institutions or medical professionals to verify coverage or conduct an audit of services
• Insurance regulation of our business
• Law Enforcement or other government authorities to protect our legal interests or in cases or suspected fraud or illegal activities
• Authorized persons as ordered by a subpoena, warrant or other court order or as required by law
• Certificate holders or policy holders for the purpose of providing information regarding the status of an insurance transaction; or
• Lien holders, mortgagees, lessors or other persons shown on our records as having a legal or beneficial interest in your policy.

4.  How Do We Protect The Confidentiality Of Information About You?
Insurance Service Center and London Insurance Agency employees maintain appropriate security standards and procedures to prevent unauthorized access to your information in whatever medium it is stored.  Employee access to personally identifiable information is limited to those with a business reason for knowing such information.  Insurance Service Center and London Insurance Agency also educates its employees so that they understand the importance of the confidentiality of personal information and in taking appropriate measures to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.
